When Jay hears a noise at night, the one thing they didn't expect was to find not a raccoon but a monster in their barn!
Luckily, the monster turns out to be quite the attractive gentleman.
Even more luckily, he's very much Jay's type.
A short, fun dating sim experience made for the Monstrous Desires 2024 gamejam.
Play as Jay using a more feminine or more masculine sprite, and find two different ending CGs depending on whether you play more flirty or a bit more shy!
This game is not meant to be taken very seriously.

Okay this was short but incredibly sweet and I loved it! Gosh I want more, I want a full on game with these two characters. MC is hilarious and Verrin is just the sweetest gentleman! Really digged the art-style too. Going to be very fun to follow your journey and see what you come up with next time! *-*

You can watch a Letsplay, there's some down below :) Not as fun as playing yourself, but it's a short game with only two "endings" so it works well enough!
I would love to see this expanded and some voice acting added. I would buy it.

I can see greatness in this game. Verrin definitely fits the meme of a surprised woman screaming in fright, "Oh my god!" and then once to see the threat is hot, the woman says suggestively, "Oh my god~" However, I wish we can have the liberty to give MC a different name. Hopefully we'll get more to come and some alternate endings. Great game!
We have no plan to extend the game further, as it was a one-off gamejam project, but we are delighted that everyone likes it this much <3
At the very least, I wish it could come full circle or conclude. Like, does Verrin get his territory back, does he stay with MC? These are questions I wish had answers.

There is! If you play on Windows at least, you can press the "h" key during the game to hide and show the textbox so you can look at them in their full glory

Thanks for the comment, we wanted to go with an established main character for this story but I can see why some people would prefer to be able to roleplay more :D

i love how big of a baby verrin is.. i just want to snuggle and baby him all the time :0 bud is adorable. also i just kept cracking up cause jay is prolly the most relatable mc and i felt like the game kept calling me out- yes i like beautiful monster men >:(
note to self: i need more games with goofy monster men.
It's a game made to call us all out... Verrin likes hugs a lot (when he's not worried about squishing you), so he'd be happy about snuggles for sure
if you ever make more games i will be looking forward to it- absolutely great work from everyone!!

I loved the dynamics of the story. Jay is super relatable, and the voice in their head (the narrator of the story, somehow?) is VERY funny. Verrin is adorable and accommodating to the MC, and he's sweet in a particular way that feels warm and comfortable. I'm glad I played this game and I'm totally up for reading more of them in the future!
I had hoped Jay would feel relatable so it's making me really happy whenever someone says this! And Verrin is indeed a big sweetie, even though he growls at you at first :)

Jay's social anxiety was super relatable, and I honestly think I TOO would be less nervous about meeting a gorgeous monster than a group of people dksbgdksb.
Verrin's sweetness and kindness just melted my heart and I love the dynamics he has with Jay!!

A small tidbit about his species: They actually live underground and come above ground to hunt! That's where the bioluminescence is helpful, too. You can imagine whole cavesystems of them skittering around on the walls haha
